It’s possible to identify early signs of type 2 diabetes more than 20 years before diagnosis, says a new study. Japanese researchers followed 27,000 adults without diabetes between 2005 and 2016 and found that increased fasting glucose, higher body mass index (BMI) and impaired insulin sensitivity could be detected up to 10 years before diabetes was diagnosed.
