A new study of diabetes treatment in the United Kingdom has found treatment inertia is greater for black and South Asian type 2 diabetes patients than it is for white people with type 2. The term “treatment inertia” means health professionals are slow to increase the intensity of treatment (such as a raising the medication dose or adding an additional medication) in response to patient needs.
