Atrial fibrillation can be detected during annual foot assessments in patients with diabetes who had not previously been diagnosed with the heart arrhythmia, according to research presented at EHRA 2021, an online scientific congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). The researchers found that one in six patients with diabetes had previously undiagnosed atrial fibrillation. Detecting and treating the condition could help prevent subsequent strokes. Read more
