During the COVID-19 pandemic, more hospitals moved to using continuous glucose monitors (CGM) for hospitalized diabetes patients. Using CGM rather than fingersticks lessens healthcare workers’ need to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to monitor patients’ blood sugar.
